Antique Pair Japanese Celadon Wedding Meoto Yunomi Teacups w/ Calligraphy SIGNED

Description

Pair of gorgeous Japanese wedding ceramic teacups (meoto yunomi) with superb handpainting and enameling in autumnal orange and blue against a very pale celadon background, and with handpainted calligraphic messages inside the cups. Both signed on bottom. One cup larger than the other, to differentiate between male and female. Larger cup is 3 5/8” high, 2 5/8” in diameter across mouth; other cup is slightly smaller. These are exceptionally refined. Both in fine condition, free of chips, cracks, or crazing.
